Trends and technologies change and advance with the passage of time. It is good to change with the times and accept the new trends and put them to practice. It is also important to keep in the face of the competition so sometimes you do need to follow the trends. Every year trends change and new trends and technologies come in to being.  Companies that offer web design services follow these trends to stay relevant. • This year it has been about keeping it simple as there is a lot of influence from the social media of less is more. Simple design options yet attractive with Web 2.0 making these websites attractive yet simple at the same time. The modern trend is to do away with left-navigation and right-navigation and keep the user as occupied as possible on page content rather than other distractions. This is actually a good trend and this will be followed by many websites even in the time to come.
  • Bigger logos are a new trend of recent times while splash pages are done away with. So oversized logos takes its place as it has the same effect on the visitors.
  • Flashy sites appealed to people in the past but not anymore. Website are losing the glam sham and has become more serious, business oriented and simple than before. It is not about animation but it is about the content of your site. Flash is a great tool but it tests your patience and so better lose it than keep it. You can still look good without the make-up of flash.
  • Fresh and unique content is what drives today’s websites and it is very much needed. No mistakes and no duplication is what every website needs and that has been the trends in these recent times.
  • Websites are promoted more with the help of social media. A Facebook Like can drive more traffic to your website.
  • This is a generation of smartphones and so it is important that you stay relevant to mobile users. So you need to have a mobile version of your website so that mobile users can stay connected with you.

We are living in a minimalist age and that is also reflected in website design.
I myself like to keep things simple and I’m always shock to see serious business websites that over complicate things with all sorts of animations that are only overloading the page and confusing the visitor.
I now realize that I’m not the only one appreciating simple and functional sites over heavy and complex ones.

I just want to stress out that you also have to consider the loading time in web designing. You have to make sure that the images you use in your background, logo or icons shouldn’t be too large since this might make your site load too long and tendency is that visitors will close your site and look for another.
